ICATS, The Industrial Coating Applicator Training Scheme is now in its 20th year and so is at the ripe young age of 20, being released in 2004.
How amazing is that and how our industry has changed since its release. Up until 2004 there was no formal Industrial Painter training in the UK.
And now ICATS principles for preparing and painting assets, structures, in the safest and most qualitative approach, has been embraced by multiple players in our industry.
From Highways and Rail to Bridges and Nuclear and so many more. My hat is tipped to its creators and ideas and people at the time of conception it has certainly improved our industry beyond measure.
